Wreaths Across America
Remembering Our Fallen Heroes

Newington, CT December 17, 2016:

Volunteers from across our nation helped Wreaths Across America lay remembrance wreaths on the graves of our fallen heroes. Over 1,100 Veteran cemeteries participated in the event on Saturday, Dec. 17.

Pictured is Newington’s Connie Mercer laying a wreath at her grandfather’s grave in Windsor’s Veteran Memorial Cemetery. ”I’m not here to remember his death. I’m here to celebrate his life - a life that gave me, and all of us, the freedom to enjoy the holidays and so much more.”

Connie is a member of Bogies for the Brave.org a Newington based charity that provides assistance to post 9/11 critically injured soldiers, their families and the survivors of the fallen.
