BOGIE
We are pleased to announce the arrival of Bogie, to the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility to start his training. Bogie is a male black lab, born on March 17, 2019 and has entered the Puppies Behind Bars program. Puppies enter the prison at the age of 8 weeks, and live with their inmate puppy-trainers for approximately 24 months. He will be trained to as a service dog in the hopes that he will one day be paired with a wounded veteran with PTSD.
A full-ride "scholarship" to this 2 year program was made possible by contributions from our generous sponsors and donors.

“Ruff Year”
SADLY, “Bogie” has congenital hearing loss and is no longer being trained as a service dog. But don't worry, he has been adopted and is living on a farm in up state NY, and having a blast!
A new puppy is being provided with the same moniker (Bogie), and was born on December 25, 2020. The new pup will join “Stormy” in the Puppies Behind Bars service dog training program early in 2021.
